Support to Interreligious Dialogue and Efforts for the Prevention of Early Marriages.
The purpose of the project is to get the support of religious leaders in the prevention of early marriages; to send appropriate right messages to the public through the clergy, thus facilitating raising public awareness of disadvantages of early marriage and reducing tolerant attitudes of the public to such marriage.
The booklet – “Early Marriage” was published within the scope of the project.
Respective meetings were held in Telavi, Kvareli and Lagodekhi municipalities in participation of the leaders and representatives of the Muslim Community of all Georgia, Muslim elderlies, representatives of legislative and executive authorities.
Respective forum was organized, through which religious unions involved in the Interreligious Council adopted the joint memorandum-address.
The project is implemented with the support of the UNFPA Georgia.
