{"id":226,"date":"2004-12-15T09:34:13","date_gmt":"2004-12-15T09:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/century21.ge\/eng\/?p=226"},"modified":"2018-08-06T10:32:02","modified_gmt":"2018-08-06T10:32:02","slug":"religia-kanonmdebloba-da-tolerantoba-saqartveloshi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/century21.ge\/eng\/religia-kanonmdebloba-da-tolerantoba-saqartveloshi\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Religion, Legislation and Tolerance in Georgia: International Standards and Local Needs&#8221;."},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"default-content-clss type_religia-kanonmdebloba-da-tolerantoba-saqartveloshi cnt_226\"><p>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>International two-day conference &#8211; &#8220;Religion, Legislation and Tolerance in Georgia: International Standards and Local Needs&#8221; was held on Decemebr 6-7, 2004, at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The conference was organized by OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief, International Center for Law and Religious Studies of Brigham Young University.<\/p>\n<p>Members of OSCE Council of Experts, well-known representatives of various universities of the world, such as Jeremy Gan, Koll Durham, Havier Martin Toron, Dag Niga Ard and others participated in the conference. Representatives of state institutions, non-governmental sector, diplomatic corps and international organizations also took part. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Members of Georgian Orthodox Church and religious minorities of Georgia were represented at this event and this was one of the important achievements of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day, the Committee of the Legal Issues of the Parliament of Georgia hosted the participants. During two days, the status, registration and funding of religious unions, interreligious dialogue, teaching about religion and other important topics were discussed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img
