“The Role of Religion in Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls”

 

 In 2016, the Union Century 21, in partnership with UNFPA Georgia, organized two forums under the aegis of the Interreligious Council to strengthen the support of religious unions in the prevention and eliminations of child/early marriage.

In the course of the last yearthe information meetings withthe local Muslim clergy, the elderlies and community leaders were organized in Sagarejo, Kvareli and Telavi municipalities of Kakheti region in cooperation with the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia.

In 2017, we continue our partnership with the UNFPA  and the Cooperation with the Muslims of Georgia. The conference – “The Role of Religion in Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls” will continue the above work. The leadership of the Administration of Muslims of All Georgia, Muslim clergy from regions of Georgia and the members of Interreligious Council will take part in it.
