The Meeting Kutaisi-Gaenati Eparchy clergymen
On January 29 by the “Union 21st Century” was organized a meeting with the Kutaisi-Gaenati Eparchy clergymen. In the meeting participated the Kutaisi-Gaenati Eparchy metropolitan Kalistrate, the clergymen of the Eparchy, the State Minister in European and Euro-Atlantic Structures Integration Issues Davit Bakhradze, Deputy director “NATO and EU Informational Center” Mrs. Tamar Medulashviliand employees of the apparatus.
The meeting was held at the City of Kutaisi former Industrialist House hall, address: Rustaveli Street # 124.
The meeting was opened by Archbishop Kalistrate, who greeted the present audience and introduced the guests. Mr. Davit Bakhradze talked in detail about the importance of the Georgian European Integration Process, European Values and Economic and Political benefits gained from successful implementation of the EU Associations Agreement. At the meeting was highlighted the importance of the support of the Church in this process.
The supervisor of the “Union 21st Century” programs, Mr. Paata Gachechiladze, introduced to the clergymen a presentation on the EU member countries church-state relation models and important issues regarding the legal relations between them. The diversity, which exists in the EU, between the State and religious unions, was highlighted, a comparison was made between these models and the current situation in Georgia.
After the speeches, the presenters answered the questions of the clergymen. A discussion was held. The present audience members were given the opportunity to present the interesting for them actual issues to the organization, and “Union 21st Century” is ready to provide them with the detailed information regarding the above mentioned.
To the clergymen were handed over beforehand prepared for them electronic and printed copies of the publication “State and Church in the EU member countries”.
